To delete a site

1. Open Active Directory Sites and Services.
2. In the console tree, right-click the site that you want to delete, and then click Delete.

Important

• Before a site can be deleted, any domain controller objects within the site must be deleted or moved to another site.

Notes

• To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Enterprise Admins group in Active Directory, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. As a security best practice, consider using Run as to perform this procedure.

• You cannot delete the site called Default-First-Site-Name.
